Professional reviews:

John Gilman (View From the Cellar): “In 2012 the Halenberg Trocken was also still in the final stage of decision-making as to how the final blend would be comprised, and for that reason I have also scored this wine within a range. It will be a superb bottle, as it offers up an excellent bouquet of grapefruit, tart pear, lime, a complex base of slatey minerality, petrol, a touch of wild yeasts and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and racy, with excellent mid-palate depth, a very soil-driven personality and a very long, focused and racy finish. This is going to be a superb example of the vintage. 2014-2030. (Mar/Apr 2013)” 91-92+ points

Jancisrobinson.com: “The Halenberg always seems a little more approachable in its youth than its Frühlingsplätzchen stablemate. Calling it generous in its expression of yellow and citrus fruit aromas would be a fair reflection of the fruit tangent, but mention also needs to be made of the chalky influence of the blue slate soil and a deft herbal touch a la bouquet garni. Almost creamy in texture and reasonably soft this is a great trocken to ease you into the higher echelons of dry Riesling. (MS) Drink 2013-2019” 17/20 pts
