Adam’s oldest vines in the Hofberg have once again turned in a sensational, dry-tasting performance”

Professional reviews:

Vinous (David Schildknecht): “Adam’s oldest vines in the Hofberg have once again turned in a sensational, dry-tasting performance. Luscious nectarine, grapefruit and kumquat are accented with toasted pumpkin seed, almond and cashew in this silken-textured, rich and subtly oily yet vivacious bottling transparent to myriad stony, smoky mineral nuances. For all of its imposing sense of stuffing, this still weighs in at barely 12 percent alcohol, giving a sense of buoyancy that complements the clarity and nuance conveyed in the memorably long, vibrantly shimmering finish. Mosel Riesling – whether dry or sweet – seldom gets finer than this in 2014, and I would not be shocked if my prognosis of ageability proved too conservative.” 94/100 pts

Wine Advocate: “Adam’s 2014 Hofberg offers a clear, deep and elegant, intense and smoky bouquet with concentrated aromas of ripe stone fruits. Round, intense and juicy on the palate, this is a rich and full-bodied Riesling with power, concentration and a long finish with a nice salinity in the end. Complex. This wine will benefit from further bottle aging of four or more years and can age for more than 20 years. It has 12% alcohol. Andreas Adam welcomed me in the stylishly renovated house of his grandparents in the tiny village of Dhron. I have rarely seen a top producer in such a narrow lane and in such a small house. I felt like I was guest in a film from the first half of the 20th century.” 91+/100 pts
