Professional reviews:

View from the Cellar (John Gilman): “The 2015 Wintricher Trocken is also outstanding, offering up a pure and youthfully complex nose of grapefruit, wild yeasts, citrus peel, plenty of smokiness, a touch of lemongrass and a topnote of orange peel. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and really suave on the attack, with a lovely core, fine focus and balance, vibrant, seamless acids and excellent length and grip on the bouncy and classy finish. 2016-2035+.” 91+/100 pts

Mosel Fine Wines (David Rayer & Jean Fisch): “This offers a gorgeous fresh nose with plenty of complex flavors including whipped cream, violet, white peach, minty herbs and spices. The wine starts off on the creamy and richer side with quite some power yet gains in minerality and precision in the very long finish. There is a touch of tartness which still needs to integrate, but make no mistake, this will be quite superb for a “Village” bottling at maturity” 91/100 pts

Vinous (David Schildknecht): “Originating in the Ohligsberg (because that’s where all of Julian Haart’s vines in Wintrich are located), this is labeled solely with the communal name so as to respect the corresponding “grand cru” bottling. Zesty grapefruit and orange are tinged with piquant seeds, pungent sage and incisive cress for a tactilely aggressive performance buffered by oiliness of texture and no doubt also sheer extract. A dark, baritonal, ore-like, faintly peaty undertone distinguishes the persistently juicy but glowingly piquant finish. ‘The berries for this were all perfectly healthy, deep green-gold and thin-skinned’, noted Haart.” 90/100 pts
